A seasoned senior executive with extensive and broad international experience in both the private and non-profit sectors. For the past twenty five years, Gulam has worked with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) as a Senior Executive in Canada, USA, Cote d’Ivoire and Kenya and has provided coordination and oversight support to missions in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India, Pakistan, Russia, Syria, Europe and the U.K. Prior to AKDN, he worked with Nestle Enterprises Limited in Canada. Having travelled to over 83 countries and lived in 9 countries spanning 3 continents, he offers a rich global perspective on different cultures and business nuances. Gulam is also a passionate volunteer. He has served as the Chair on the Board of Fairtrade International, Director on the Board for Crohn’s & Colitis Canada and Mentor for Futurepreneur Canada. Gulam has been recognized as a Global Goodwill Ambassador by GGA, an organization which recognizes good people for performing humanitarian work while promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most.
