Dr. Richard Scott. Richard is CEO and Principal Consultant for NT Consulting; Director, Office of Global e-Health Strategy, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, and Department of Family Medicine, University of Calgary, and Professor, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He is also a Canadian Harkness Associate (2004-2005), and a Fulbright New Century Scholar (2001-2002) alumnus; experiences that strengthened his policy and global health perspectives, respectively. Richard has a BSc 1st Class (Hons) from the UK (Plymouth University), a Ph.D. from Canada (University of Calgary), and a Post-Graduate Certificate from the USA (Mayo Clinic). Richard practiced as a clinical, forensic, environmental, and occupational toxicologist for 13 years, and acted as a consultant and expert witness in criminal and civil cases. As a clinician and Health Services Researcher, Richard has over 30 years of frontline healthcare, research, and contract experience, including as the Director of Research for a large hospital corporation. With over 17 years of experience in e-Health, Richard has worked with colleagues in many Latin American, Caribbean, North American, European, African, South East Asian, and Australasian countries. Richard is also Editor of the Journal of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (JISfTeH), and on the Editorial Boards of several other health services research oriented journals. He has and continues, to provide input to national and international advisory groups and panels.
